BMW GPS + USB Interface (Y)

The new BMW GPS + USB Interface (Y) complements the MID010005 interface with an additional SZ plug to allow the original BMW Navigator to be used with its full range of functions. This means that the SZ slot is not blocked by a GPSgation, GPS or USB device and can be used in parallel.

The BMW GPS Interface (Y) MID060005 is the perfect connection for connecting Navigationsystems or other electrical devices, e.g. USB sockets, to BMW motorcycles. The interface also solves the problem of gradual battery discharge when connecting non-original Navigationsystems such as Garmin Zumo series Navigationsystems or TomTom Rider devices and other devices with voltage converters such as USB sockets. In addition, all other additional devices are safely switched off from the BMW motorcycle CAN bus, preventing the battery from discharging. Without using the GPS Interface, the battery is loaded and discharged unnoticed even when the ignition is turned off. The interface reliably separates the power connection between the motorcycle and the Navigationsystem and protects the battery from discharging. The connection is ideally made using the prepared BMW SA accessory plug connection - Cartool plug (SA for special accessories) of all BMW motorcycles:

The SA connection socket is already pre-fitted at the factory on all of the above models. The position of the SA accessory plug depends on the BMW model and is described in the on-board literature for the machine. You can find an overview in our FAQs: BMW SA accessory plug . By using the interface, in which the original BMW CAN bus plug is already installed, the unwanted gradual discharge of the battery when idle is prevented in vehicles with a CAN bus system. The connection is made via plug'n'play, the connection of the power set is done quickly and optimally without any tools using the solder connectors included in the delivery.

The original BMW repair plug 83 30 0 413 585 (Cartool plug) is installed in the BMW GPS Interface (Y) for 100% compatibility.

Note: The BMW GPS + USB nterface (Y) is not compatible with the BMW charger with part number 71 60 7 688 864!

The BMW R18 has a special SZ plug! The version with the special SA accessry plug is necessary here .
