BMW R18 GPS + USB Interface (Y)

The GPS + USB Interface R18 (Y) MID100005 is the perfect connection for connecting navigation systems or other electrical devices, e.g. USB sockets, to the BMW R18.

The interface (Y) is specially designed for parallel use with the original BMW Navigator. With the R18, this is the only way to connect the original BMW Navigator Mount Cradle. 

The interface also solves the problem of gradual battery discharge when connecting non-original navigation systems such as Garmin Zumo series navigation systems or TomTom Rider devices. In addition, all other additional devices are safely switched off from the BMW Motorrad CAN bus, preventing the battery from discharging. Without using the navigation interface, the battery is loaded and discharged unnoticed even when the ignition is turned off. The interface reliably separates the power connection between the motorcycle and the navigation system and protects the battery from discharging. The connection is ideally made using the prepared BMW SA accessory plug connection - Cartool plug (SA for special accessories) of all BMW motorcycles:

The special SA accessory connection socket is already pre-installed on the BMW R18 at the factory. The position of the SA accessory plug depends on the BMW model and is described in the on-board literature for the machine. You can find an overview in our FAQs: BMW SA accessory plug . By using the interface, in which the original BMW CAN bus plug is already installed, the unwanted gradual discharge of the battery when idle is prevented in vehicles with a CAN bus system. The connection is made via plug'n'play, the connection of the power set is done quickly and optimally without any tools using the solder connectors included in the delivery.

The BMW Navi Interface R18 features the special R18 SA accessory plug for 100% compatibility.

Note: The navigation interface is not compatible with the battery charger with part number 71 60 7 688 864!
